Symbolic language of Activational Art

Reflection on James Mahu's essay "Activational Art"

unless it is conceived and expressed through the Language of Unity."

The Manifesto of Sovereign Integral

* * * * * *

We live in a world where Activational Art and its symbolic language is not well understood. It is as if we humans have sort of forgotten the deeper meaning of life and have stopped understanding the language of symbolic messages, events, meaningful synchronicities through which our Infinite Self speaks to us in life. This is probably why Activational Art comes onto the stage of life with its simple message: "I am here as a channel of communication between your finite self and the Infinite Self".

Tree of life: root, heart, crown

(alignment of body, emotions, mind)

This channel or communication interface is in fact spread out in the events and interactions of an individual's everyday life, and activational art in any form (painting, music, sculptures, carvings, etc.) is only a symbolic reminder of this fact. It cannot replace the understanding of the meaning of life events and the understanding of their message. However, it can play the role of a kind of "syllabary". And if we understand these basic syllables, we can, through the activational art, understand the deeper levels of our lives and thus of life as a whole.

The most basic syllable or symbol of the Language of Unity, through which the activation art speaks to us, will surely be the syllable So-In, the meaning of which is: Sovereign-Integral. Sovereign is the consciousness: 'I am'. The Integral is the consciousness: 'We are'. This consciousness is combined into the whole of So-In, and we perceive the Integral part of this consciousness as the external world. Something we do not identify with. We have yet to go through the expansion of consciousness into the Integral state, into a state where we recognize the external world (the local universe) as our own creation, as ourselves in an expanded state of awareness: 'we are'.

The heart and emotional intelligence as a portal between worlds

The activational artist is already working from this expanded, integral state of consciousness, and his work is simply a testimony to this experience. This experience is consciously put into the work by the artist and is therefore contained in the work. It is communicated to the viewer through symbols: shapes, colours, rhythms, melodies, the materials used, the environment in which the work is placed, etc. Understanding this symbolism requires the activation of the viewer's intuitive intelligence, as it is based on feelings and emotions. The mind then explores these evoked feelings and emotions and tries to understand them. This creates a communication between the heart, which is the seat of intuitive intelligence, and the mind. This inner communication results in a state of Logical Compassion, which is a state of Attunement of emotional and mental intelligence. The Activation Artist works from this state of Attunement, the state of Logical Compassion, and therefore his means of expression are elements of the Language of Unity, not the language of the mind.

Certainly there are also artists who can connect the Language of Unity and the language of the mind through their work to the extent that the meaning of the words of the language of the mind is "corrected" or "deepened" so that the words are filled with the meaning of the Language of Unity. It is then a metaphorical language. The language of metaphor. Meta language. The words have a deeper, metaphorical meaning within them. Therefore, they activate the Imaginative faculty of the mind. They create images, concepts, ideas that form bridges to the Infinite Self.

This is why activational art is a form of language, and activational artists are language creators, language translators, or simply language teachers. A language that combines emotional intelligence and mental intelligence into an expression of logical compassion that is further manifested in a work of art, or even as simple an expression as Intelligent Behavior or any Embodiment of Interconnectedness.

The bottom line is that each of us is, or can be, an Activational Artist. So-In Artist. A Sovereign Integration Process Artist. An Artist embodying the Alignment of the Finite Self with the Infinite Self. In this art, we can remind ourselves of our intention to work on the alignment of the finite self with the Infinite Self through our own creations that we fill our local universe, our living space, with. We can create these creations in moments of clarity, understanding, insight, when we experience a deeper awareness of our purpose as human beings. These embodiments can take the form of a simple affirmation written on a piece of paper, which is then hung on the refrigerator, above the desk or bed. Underlined or decorated in colour.

And each time such insight deepens, expands, this artifact can be renewed, embellished, or enriched with another piece, another affirmation, another symbol, another "syllable" of the language of our own self-understanding. Thus the environment of the individual's local universe begins to fill with artifacts that have a different vibration. While they are part of the external environment, they carry the vibration of inner understanding. And if the inner understanding is manifested externally, anchored in an artistic creation that is an expressive vehicle for the inner experience, then the inner and outer worlds begin to merge. Sovereign connects with the Integral. And the outer environment begins to fill with the story of the alignment of the finite self with the Infinite. It's very simple.

Fragrance of the Flower of Life: Six Heart Virtues in daily practice

However, most of the external environments in which we move and dwell are filled with objects and tools, symbols and words that are not designed to create a bridge between the inner and outer worlds. They have meaning only in the external world. They are representations of the values of the external, material world. They are part of a system of survival. And our eyes, ears, and other senses, therefore, are trained only to focus our attention on these objects all the time, so that our senses lose the frequency range that allows us to perceive the inner worlds. And if we can't perceive the inner worlds, then we can't understand them. We lose the capacity for Logical Compassion. We lose the Harmony between emotional and mental intelligence. Our understanding becomes limited to the words of the language of the mind, which are a fixed part of the outer world, and which lack the value and meaning that would connect them to the inner world, from which the Language of Unity springs.

My inspiration is that you become the activational artist of your own life. To fill the external environment in which you reside with embodiments that remind you that you are more than this body. That these embodiments are alive, in the sense that they tell the story of your expanding understanding of yourself, of who you are and why you are here. And this story continues to go on and on. And each embodiment you add will expand and add to the ones before it until the environment you live in becomes a living book that tells the story of Sovereign's journey to the Integral. The story of So-In.

Sixteen-rays intelligence of Great Central Sun

The illustrative photographs in this text are snapshots of such my depictions captured during my Sovereign Integration process as I have experienced it over the past decades. To create them, I used wooden plates, an engraving pen, crystalline minerals, natural tree resin, and beeswax. On these pieces I have depicted the themes of the Sovereign Integral Consciousness Life Principles found in the writings of James Mahu and now in my original works. These artifacts have been a guide written in my own hand for years, symbolically reminding me of the life principles I intended to weave into my life. Each one of them represents a certain stage of my life, a life theme. They tell a story. It even has its own scent of resin and honey. They are alive.

Now that the Life Principles are firmly woven into my life, their pattern continues to expand. It expands into your local universe, to you. Such is the power of these life principles. Perhaps these my symbolic representations, along with the accompanying text, will somehow help you to understand the Language of Oneness and the expressions through which your own life, with all its events, speaks to you. Perhaps you will be able to uncover more deeply the spring of your consciousness, so that you may know that this spring is common to us all.
